Together Chris and Helen have a combined 25 years of writing, directing and producing across commercials, video games, film and TV. Collaboration, experimentation and innovation are at the core of their creative process. They are fully obsessed with digital culture and together have managed to shape the future of visual language delivering unique and unconventional commercials for the world’s best brands, agencies and platforms.
PI has established itself as a serious contender in comedy-driven, VFX-heavy commercials, having worked with Adobe, Bud Light, Visa, and Nike. Nevertheless, they remain strongly connected to gaming, having recently produced films for Pokémon Go, Ingress, League of Legends, and FIFA 22 for EA. Even their ingenious website is award-winning, and recently featured by the FWA.
Private Island has racked up a stack of awards for technically innovative, eye-catching, and genuinely original work. The studio aims to break down the boundaries between live-action and animation by assembling bespoke teams of talent to facilitate unconventional commercial work.
Private Island’s award-winning work has been featured globally at The Sundance Film Festival, in The New York Times, Creative Review and Onepointfour alongside Ad of the Day with The Drum, Adage, Adweek, Shots and multiple Vimeo Staff Picks.
However, Private Island is probably most proud of having broken the internet with a fictional beer commercial entirely created with AI and holding a Guiness Book of Records, record. You can ask them yourself what the record is for when you next see them.
