Mario Feil
Mario Feil started by filming sports events and came to prominence with his filmic portrait of the mountain bike professional Andi Wittmann. This film kick-started his career and brought him to the attention of major sports brands such as Gortex, Adidas and Red Bull that loved his freshness of eye. These early collaborations resulted in a series of dynamic films that launched Mario into the world of international advertising.
Quickly renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship, Mario's talent shines in the automotive realm, a fitting match for Germany's car-centric culture. Reflecting on his journey, he shares, “I started doing car commercials because I loved the challenge as a DP/Director. But I quickly realised that it wasn’t just the photography that interested me, but the story, even if the spot was purely visual.”
Beyond automotive, Mario's versatility knows no bounds. From food photography to lifestyle and comedy dialogue, his work is polished and multifaceted. With a robust credit list including campaigns for Audi, BASF, BMW, Commerzbank, Ford, Google, Lufthansa, Mini, Opel, Porsche, Sennheiser, and Volkswagen, Mario's reputation precedes him. Agencies trust his ability to transcend categories, making him a sought-after collaborator.
"I always work towards a timeless, cinematic and human end result, with a lot of passion. I love to work in new fields on products I haven’t shot, with people I haven’t worked with, to gain knowledge and try new things. I try to avoid shooting the same genre in a row or even repeat myself, because that seems too easy.”
Despite his success, Mario remains grounded and approachable. Producers often vie for the opportunity to work with him, a testament to his enduring appeal and professional demeanour.
